Date: 2010-08-29 02:34 am (UTC)except for that one cracky!SM/GW story I'm toying withWufei stays on with the Preventers, working directly under Sally Po and tries his best to ignore the lewd comments such a statement culls. After a while it's less conflict aversion and more war reparations. There has been little to no contact between him and the others, he'll catch Peacecraft and Yuy on the television once in a while, but beyond that he's a solitary soul. (Except for when Sally Po invites herself over for dinner, and no he doesn't want to talk about it).
Quatre, still heading his father's company, has turned to Colony Restorations. He realizes the state most of the colonies are in after the terrible war and oversees the project personally. He's a rallying force for the destitute, a figure they can pin all their hopes on. The Maganacs are still with him, honored and beloved friends that he can't imagine his life without.
Trowa and his sister are no longer with the circus. They've called it quits and set up a little shop in a quiet town on Earth. It's different, having an address and a solid place he can come home to, but he kind of likes the change. (They sell flowers that they grow themselves in a ridiculously oversized garden).
Duo runs a mechanic shop out in one of the colonies, it's an extention of the scrap metal business Hilde set up. They share a house, finally coming to terms with the fact that yes, they'd like to be more than friends and it's a long awkward courtship. Duo is almost always broke because he sends all his earnings that isn't essential to living to various orphanages across the colony. Hilde's okay with this though, and buys her own engagement ring.
Officially, Heero is still working as Relena's bodyguard. He refuses to trust her life with anybody else, even herself some days (she's so damn trusting and he can't make her understand human nature and isn't that ridiculous?). She's always busy which means he's always busy which is good because he hates drifting and feeling useless.
Unofficially, he is engaged to Relena. Which might just be scarier than the Eve Wars, but he won't admit that. (Also, for some terrifying reason, Duo has managed to stay in touch. He invited Heero to his wedding which is slated a full year before his and Relena's)

If Riku had to guess, he'd lean toward 'more impish than usual'. Sora would have said 'evil', because any teasing about relationships that he personally wasn't doing was evil. Riku wasn't as libral with the word as he used to be.
Riku shrugged. "I met Yori before we left. It was kind of obvious." When around her, or even talking about her, Tron went from the kind of happy you got from being well-rested to a full on sugar-high.
Five months and several Restores after the MCP had been de-rezzed, the world within Hollow Bastion's computer network had begun to look like a world again. It had a city. There were people. There was the regular transfer of information. Tron was no longer the single security program charged with the maintenence of an entire network. There were others- dozens of them.
But they were only as powerful as they had been written since the last system save. Leon and Cid were no slouch with computers, but they weren't programmers and neither was Tron. If something had to be done inside the system and there wasn't a program with the right system parameters, a User had to come in and do it.
Which was fine. The more they fixed the computer world, the more the computer world could help fix the User world. Their progress repairing Hollow Bastion was exponentially faster than it had been before they gained access to the system.
But there were still bugs in it.
One minute, Yuffie had stopped her incessant foot-tapping on the Solar Sailer to listen to something. In the next, Riku heard it as well, but faster than you could say "Is it supposed to sound like that?" they were falling through the air.
Or space... or the program. Whatever.
The good news was, they were fine. It had been a ways to fall, but 1. Yuffie could levitate, and 2. Riku's shields were versitile.
The bad news was they were stuck in the middle of the vast system, travel was quick but communication (if you weren't in an input/output tower) was less than fantastic. When they didn't reach their destination, Tron would be alerted and someone would come to find them, but until then....
"I wonder how they have sex."
With Sora or Kairi, Riku would have shouted, groaned, and possibly grabbed the commentor in a headlock. But Yuffie wanted that kind of reaction. She was begging for it. So Riku gave her a raised eyebrow and said nothing.
"I mean these aren't really clothes," Yuffie poked at her helmet, "and these aren't really bodies."
He batted at the hand reaching for his cheek, aware that Yuffie could have done it much faster. Fast enough that he wouldn't have seen her and only felt a vague sense of discomfort, as if someone had pinched his face.
"Don't say that in front of Tron and his buddies."
"You know what I mean," Yuffie answered, totally unfazed. "It's not skin and bone and all the squishy stuff we are in the real world. So why would it work the same?"
Riku searched for a hint that she was flirting. The impish smile was back... and maybe Sora was right. It did look kind of-
"Wanna see if we can figure it out?"
Oh. There it was.

Yuffie reached- and found herself flat on her back as the shield intercepted her hand and Riku countered with a toss.
No sword. He was still trying to keep this polite.
"I said," he repeated calmly, "no."
Then Yuffie gave him a smile that was... warm. Friendly and pleased and maybe a tad impressed. She regained her feet with a little flip and brushed nonexistant dust off her clothes.
"Good. I thought with all that time Sora had to put into finding you; you might be the type to stray. Glad to see I worried for no reason."
Riku rubbed his forehead. Body or no body, he felt a headache coming on. He almost, almost would have preferred the castle to this.
"I mean it's not like he chased you around for months or anything," Yuffie said sweetly, grin just a little too wide. "Not knowing if you were wounded and bleeding on some world somewhere-"
He couldn't say the guilt trip wasn't deserved, and Yuffie could be throwing kunai instead of criticsm.
"-where no one could help and-"
Kairi had been too happy to see him to lecture, so he figured he was overdue.
"-was the least you could do-"
But he was starting to wish he'd stayed outside with Leon's death glare and Aerith's home cooking.

and you should post this to your journal so i can mem it for lifehaaaaa, Yuffie. Queen of the guilt trip (and Riku, you have my sympathy but only a smidge because she's riiiiight)(soo..uuh, I was playing with the drabble I owe you on my laptop and then it crashed D: so I have to start from the beginning and I'm soooo sorry that it's taking so long but it'll be here by the end of the week if you still love me?)
